W6 Satellite

Located at 21.5° East, W6 (formerly W3) is ideal for companies needing to communicate between Europe, North Africa, the Sahara, the Middle East and the Gulf region. Fine-tuned for professional communications, the satellite is perfect for applications such as VSAT networks, broadband Internet and data broadcasting.

With twenty-eight simultaneously active transponders, W6 provides a widebeam coverage of Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia, and a steerable coverage centred over North West Africa, and the Middle East.

For W6 two-way connections users need an iDirect Evolution X3 or X5 router.

Evolution X3

The Evolution X3 is the next-generation satellite router featuring iDirect’s highly efficient implementation of the DVB-S2 standard. It is ideally suited for broadband requirements such as Internet and VPN access to enterprise networks, as well as real-time VoIP and video conferencing.

With DVB-S2 and Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) on the outbound and deterministic TDMA on the return, the Evolution X3 Satellite Router maximizes the efficiency of satellite capacity to enable new opportunities for star topology networking. The Evolution X3 Satellite Router is an integrated satellite modem and IP router supporting a wide range of carrier IP data rates, FEC codes and modulation types.

Evolution X5

The Evolution X5 features dual-mode operation of DVB-S2/ACM or iNFINITI TDM on the outbound and deterministic TDMA on the inbound. With fast processing capabilities, the X5 supports high-speed, high-efficiency applications such as enterprise connectivity, mobile cellular, maritime and other mobile applications.

The Evolution® X5 Satellite Router offers dual-mode operation between iNFINITI® TDM or DVB-S2/ACM on the outbound, providing more flexibility for network design and bandwidth optimization as the network grows. With over-the-air software licensing features service providers can easily add data encryption and spread spectrum capabilities to customize the Evolution® X5 Satellite Router to meet their customer’s growing requirements.

Evolution 8000

Developed to meet the most rigorous military-grade security requirements, the Evolution® 8000 Series Satellite Router provides fast, reliable quality of service enabled connections for government and military networks including Communications on the Move (COTM) and Communications on the Pause (COTP) applications.
